Pauls Valley Schools will be OPEN on Friday, January 30th. The safety of our students and staff is of the utmost importance to us, and we always strive to do what is best for them—period. This afternoon, our team drove bus routes in the most troublesome areas of our district to ensure we could safely reach all locations. We also recognize how important it is for our students to be at school, where we can provide two hot meals and send backpack food home with those who receive it. That said, we respect that parents know their circumstances best. If you do not feel it is safe for your child to attend school tomorrow, please contact your student’s school office to report an excused absence. We ask everyone to take their time traveling to school, and tardies will be excused. Ultimately, it is the parent’s right to determine whether it is safe for their child to attend school. Thank you for your continued support and partnership as we prioritize safety while serving our students and families.

we’re open
Pauls Valley Schools will be closed on Thursday, January 29th. While main roads are now clear, many side streets and rural roads remain unsafe. The safety of our students and staff is paramount in everything we do, and having anyone driving or walking in these conditions is not worth the risk. We appreciate the understanding and patience of our community as we work to reopen school as safely as possible. Thank you for your continued support. ❄️🚌💙

Snow Day - 29TH
SNOW DAY / ACTIVITIES CANCELLED - WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 28TH

Efforts to clean our school grounds have made tremendous progress. However, the roads simply have not improved enough for us to safely hold school tomorrow. We are all anxious to get our students back in the classroom in a safe, warm environment. We appreciate your understanding as we continue to navigate this situation. Stay safe and warm!

❄️ Snow Day / Activities Cancelled – Tuesday, January 27 ❄️

Pauls Valley Schools will be closed on Tuesday, January 27, due to continued hazardous road conditions.

After evaluating side streets and rural routes (and after personally getting stuck and assisting others who were stuck), we determined it is not safe to open school tomorrow.

The sunshine today has helped improve conditions, and we are hopeful that another day of sun will make travel safe. Our crews continue working on school parking lots and walkways, and will have them ready once it is safe to return.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as the safety of our students, staff, and families remains our top priority. Please continue to monitor the Pauls Valley Schools App and our Facebook page for updates.

PS: Mr. Midkiff's picture yesterday at Whitebead left us inspired and definitely wishing we were somewhere warm in all this cold!

Snow Day - January 27th
Pauls Valley Schools is closely monitoring road conditions and actively making preparations for a safe return to school. At this time, many rural roads and side streets within town remain dangerous. Conditions would need to improve significantly for us to safely hold school. We will continue to monitor conditions throughout the day and will make a decision regarding school for tomorrow later this afternoon. Please continue to monitor the Pauls Valley Schools App and our Facebook page for updates later today. Thank you for your patience and understanding as safety remains our top priority.

📢 School Closure Notice – Traditional Snow Day

Pauls Valley Schools will be closed tomorrow (Friday, January 23rd) due to inclement weather. This will be a traditional snow day, with no virtual instruction.

This decision was made after carefully balancing student safety with the needs of our community while monitoring changing weather forecasts. We must also consider the safety of our staff who commute, students who drive or walk to school, and ensure we never place our buses on the road in unsafe, inclement weather.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support as we prioritize the safety of our students and staff. Please stay safe and warm, and continue to watch for updates.

We’re proud to announce the addition of three new activity buses to our district fleet! 🎉
🚌 Two new full-size International activity buses
🚐 One 14-passenger activity bus that can be driven by any staff member with a regular driver’s license

Our new full-size buses are packed with features designed for comfort and convenience, including:
✔️ USB charging ports
✔️ Individual passenger lighting and air vents
✔️ Air ride suspension for a smoother, coach-like ride
✔️ An awesome new graphics package — voted on by our 6th–11th grade students 👏

These additions will help ensure safer, more comfortable travel for our students as they represent Pauls Valley near and far. We also want to share that these buses were purchased using already allocated district funds and are not part of a bond project or tied to any tax increase. We’re proud to continue investing responsibly in our students and staff while being good stewards of district resources.

🌟 Big News! Investing in Our Student-Athletes and Community! 🌟

We are thrilled to share that at last night's Board meeting, initial plans for a major upgrade to our Wacker Stadium facilities were approved!

🏃🏈 Track and Field/Stadium Reconstruction Project

This comprehensive project will bring significant improvements to benefit many programs and our entire community:

• Track Expansion: Our current six-lane track will be completely reconstructed and expanded to a state-of-the-art eight-lane track.

• Field Resurfacing: The football field will be resurfaced with brand-new artificial turf and improved drainage systems.

This investment will support a wide range of groups, including:

• The Pride of the Valley Marching Band and its annual contest

• Track and Field

• Cross Country

• Football

• Special Olympics

• Community youth programming

This project directly aligns with our current strategic planning and community survey feedback regarding the need to address school-owned facilities and expand future programming opportunities.

We are incredibly appreciative of our anonymous donors who have made significant contributions to make this vision a reality!

🛠️ Concessions, Sound System, and Restroom Upgrades (Separate Project)

In a separate but equally important effort, we will begin making immediate improvements to our existing bathroom and concession facilities. We will also begin working to replace our sound system and speakers that quit working near the end of the football season. Our goal is to have noticeable changes completed in time for the upcoming track meet season!

✅ Financial Impact

We want to assure our community that none of these projects are coming from a bond proposal or will result in any tax increases. These upgrades will be funded through private donations and school district funds specifically designated for building and facilities projects.

We are excited about the future and what these improvements will mean for our students and community members!

Stay tuned for updates as the work begins!

Welcome back, Panthers! We hope everyone enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving break with family and friends! We are excited to welcome our students and staff back tomorrow as we head into the final stretch of the semester. As we move into the colder winter months, we want to remind parents to please ensure students come to school dressed warmly. Coats, hats, and gloves make a big difference on chilly mornings. We are looking forward to a great week back!
