Pauls Valley High School is known for having students receive the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence Award which in turn makes the student an Oklahoma Academic All-State. There are only 100 chosen state wide each year. Furthermore, in recent years, several of our athletic teams have ranked number one in the state academically. Pauls Valley High School prepares its nearly 300 students, in grades ten through twelve, for their futures with rigorous college-preparatory courses and, if the student so chooses, vocational training at the nearby Mid-America Technology Center. Seventy percent of PVHS’s graduating seniors go on to attend college at universities throughout the state and nation. Moreover, Pauls Valley High School consistently ranks in the top 10 percent in the state with regards to ACT and state tests.
Thus, it is with these purposes ever in mind that the staff and students commit themselves in accordance with our mission statement: Success through Commitment, Loyalty and Pride.
To: Parents of High School Juniors
FROM: Pauls Valley School District
Pauls Valley School is communicating with parents of students who will be juniors during the 2019-20 school year.
Our school district plans to administer the ACT® test in spring 2020 to eligible juniors as part of the state contract with the Oklahoma State Department of Education and ACT.
Last year over 95% of Oklahoma schools selected to administer the ACT. Our district believes this is an excellent opportunity for all eligible juniors to take the ACT at no cost to them or their families.
Additional information on why we chose the ACT can be found at: 8 Reasons to Choose the ACT Test.
We also have a brief survey we would like you to complete. On the school website under ACT, click on College & Career Readiness Assessment Community Stakeholder Consultation.
Parents/Guardians must sign a parental consent form in order for your child to answer optional non-test questions on the preadministration portion of the ACT and we will send the form home with your child. Please sign it and drop it off in the main office or have your child return it to Mrs. Bonner.
Should you have any questions/comments, please contact Jan Caldwell, at Pauls Valley High School.
